Knowing Jesus =)

All I once held dear, built my life upon All this world reveres, and wars to own All I once thought gain, I have counted loss Spent and worthless now, compared to this

Knowing you, Jesus, knowing you
There is no greater thing
You're my all, you're the best
You're my joy, my righteousness
And I love you Lord

Now my heart's desire, is to know you more
To be found in you, and known as yours
To possess by faith, what I could not earn
All surpassing gift, of righteousness

Knowing you, Jesus, knowing you
There is no greater thing
You're my all, you're the best
You're my joy, my righteousness
And I love you Lord

Oh to know the power of your risen life
And to know you in your sufferings
To become like you in your death my Lord
So with you to live and never die

Knowing you, Jesus, knowing you
There is no greater thing
You're my all, you're the best
You're my joy, my righteousness
And I love you Lord

"Morgenstund hat Gold im Mund" - Early in the Morning!

Today it was my first day at school after 6 weeks at holiday. i was wondering how my first day would be, also because I´m in year 12 now and all the exams count for my abitur! This morning I woke up, realized it`s half 6 and time to take a shower- everything was still normal- but when i finished taking a shower it was 7 ish and i only had 20 minuts left til my bus left... well never mind, just hurry a bit BUT as i knocked at my fathers door wondering why he was still assleep he told me it is 6 ish, i got up a hour too early .... mmmhh... My first thought was "nom d`ume pipe en bios!" or you better say "damn" but i remembered myself praying yesterday night for a good start to school and thanked God for giving me the possibility to spend time there praying and reading his word!
GOD IS AWESOME!

England 2006 !

week 1:
London! It was sooooo hot you can`t possibly imagine! The very friendly Gurnett family invited me to stay with them for 2 weeks where i worked with `youth for christ` and saw LONDON town which was quite fascinating for me :) At the office we made invitations for all the young leaders in London who helped during the second week to run kids clubs. The heat however hindered this so we hung around all the time and watched TV, lay in the sun, slept in the office and made "cold dog" (`kalter hund´- german chocolate cake) !!! Once I went with Claire (the older sister) to help her at the primary school where she works. There I decided that i would like to do my work experience in january and luckily the headteacher gave me permission too. Hehe :)

week 2:
Jubilee Kids !
This is how a day looked like:
Yesterday we started our children programme in a part of london called charlton, where loads of flats, big houses and families are who are quite poor. But still a lovely place with a big garden in front of the flats. One christian family who lives at a flat called cherry orchard has a really big garden and we could do our programme there.
Our day looks like that:
coming together, building up the tents,
praying, worshipping the lord,
when the children arrive they first have to register and then they can play some games and also eat & drink!
Later on the programme starts and people from the jubilee kids team, including me, tell the children about jesus, play some games with them, do sketches, songs, pray (always using the sketch board) luckily the children are really enthusiastic :)
Yesterday Tory prayed for the exzema on my hands which helped a lot. Jesus really heals me! it doesnt hurt anymore.
The community and unity that the team has is also really amazing and i met loads of nice people, you just feel how God leads them and they have a big joy in their lives which is wonderful :)
Yesterday a girl gave her life to jesus *halleluja* and she now comes every day and loves it.
In the afternoon the children can do: dancing, crafts, choir or football! I did crafts yesterday and dancing today- fun hehe :)
After that the children can do "jesus action". There we go around the estate and wash the windows of the people and planting flowers in their garden- doing something really nice for the people! The children love it, it is fun indeed!!! :)
then the children go home and we have a big team dinner :)
just wonderful to do this job. I did the prayer yesterday and today i did the actions to the songs and were doing a game! :) thanx jesus for the day!
We did that the whole week and in the end the team leaders gave everyone a card telling they continue to pray for us and many thanx for helping!
It was a unique experience and I´d love to do it again someday. I really feel working with Children is what i would love to do in the future and i`m very thankful for this community & experience!

weeks 3 + 4:
Lee Abbey!
On Saturday the 29th the Gurnetts drove me to Victoria station in London where i got the coach to Taunton and surprisingly met Selina (on the coach) so it was a nice journey!
There we had to wait for a while til we got the special coach to Lee Abbey.
Here is an example of an typical day:
In the morning someone walked around the tents and tried to wake all the campers up. This was about 8 ish. At 8:30 we had breakfast. Over all we had 6 meals a day *yummy* !!!
Everday we had loads of activities for example: Swimming, volleyball, football, tabletennis, games in the lounge, relaxing, bible study, discussion groups ( big buds) , seminars, workshops like arts, making earrings, t-shirts etc..... !

In the evenings we always had epilogues with certain issues like the book of Daniel, The passover, sexuality, holy spirit .... This was the only thing that was compulsory- the epilogue!
One day we dressed up in fancy dress to play podex against the House (lee abb
ey community centre)! Podex is a mix of American football and Cricket! It is lots of fun!

Another we had a formal evening (Black tie evening) where the girls wore dresses and the boys shirts&ties. After a delicous dinner we went dancing in the big tent, like a disco. It was fun! hehe :-)

We also went on many walks to find our way around! There were nice paths on the cliffs where you could see the whole area ! In half an hour you could walk to the next villages - lynton and lynmouth! There weren`t a lot of houses at all. Once in Lynton I wanted to buy ice-cream but I also wanted to have a flake but didn`t have the money so the ice-cream man asked me where I´m from and because he likes german people he gave to me free.

Camp was a really fascinating experience for me. Although I had been there last year it was very different and many things were new to me. It was good to see all the friends again from last year and it didn`t take long till you got to know them because you already knew them :)
Obviously people changed over the year. But I also realized how different I am to last year, know more about life, grew in faith and met new people over the year. It really changed me and it emcouraged me a lot when people said that I´m quite mature for my age.
Of course there were many knew people i met too who were just smashing :D
God challenged me in so many ways at camp: He gave me the opportunity to talk with people about Gods calling for my life, I gave God the pen to write the most beautiful love story for my life (not written by me but by him) and though life is not easy always I know he forgives me and cleanses me that I will be as white as snow (psalm 51) !!! I´m glad i can live with jesus.

"With God ALL things are possible!" Matthew 19:26

God sometimes can`t act because we don`t put enough faith in him! It`s then our fault not his!

week 5:
My stay in Nottingham!

After Camp i visited my friend Alison in Nottingham. I had a really nice time getting to know her better and doing different activities like
visiting "Cadburys Chocolate world" in Bournville. That was fun, all the delicous smelling chocolate.

On the first day we went to Alison`s church in Toton and i met Louise from Germany who was currently working there as a youth leader. The other day we went to Nottingham, met her friend Naomi and went shopping. It was really nice to see Nottingham again.
On Thursday we went to Alisons School to get her AS-level results. Alison was quite pleased with her German exam result. I think it was an B. B is like a 2 in Germany!
I had a really nice time at her house indeed and I´m really going to miss them!
Anyway, school starts tomorrow and I hope everyone is looking forward to studying again ;)
Peace be with all of you! Be blessed!!!
